Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker is continuing his streak of movie soundtrack songs with “Wings Of Time,” a track from the upcoming movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. The movie itself arrives in theaters March 31.
Parker says of the song, “Being asked to do a track for the D&D soundtrack seemed like an unmissable opportunity to indulge in my long time love of fantasy prog rock. I recruited my good friend Nicholas Allbrook, who is the person I know appreciates this subject matter the most.”
He continues, “We rented a villa in Spain, that kind of felt like a castle, for two nights … that location got us in the right frame of mind and it went from there. We stayed up late coming up with weird ideas and song lyrics.”
Last summer, Parker collaborated with the legendary Diana Ross on “Turn Up the Sunshine” for the soundtrack of Minions: The Rise of Gru and also remixed the 1968 Elvis Presley song “Edge of Reality” for Baz Luhrmann‘s Oscar-nominated film Elvis.
As previously reported, Parker recently fractured his hip, but all of Tame Impala’s shows will continue this month as scheduled, including Friday’s show in Mexico City.
