Dirty Heads have announced a new EP titled Midnight Control Sessions: Night 2.

The four-track collection arrives April 14 and is one of three EPs the “Lay Me Down” outfit plans to put out this year. Each one features music Dirty Heads wrote and recorded while working on their latest album, Midnight Control.

The first single from Night 2 is titled “Rescue Me” and samples the melody of Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ “Dani California.”

“This song is about the spirit of California and the influence she’s had on us as human beings,” says vocalist Jared Watson. “The beach, the desert, and the mountains, all available within the same day, waiting with open arms to feed your soul.”

Midnight Control was released last August. It includes the single “Life’s Been Good,” a reworking of the 1978 Joe Walsh song of the same name.
